1. What is Success Coaching?
Success coaching is a communication process
in which a coach assists the client in accessing their own
inner resources, qualities and capabilities to achieve their
desired outcomes. The process of success coaching leads
to self empowerment for the client. Ideally after a number
of sessions a client is able to incorporate this process
and be their own success coach. Basically it is about Self
management, self empowerment, advancement & personal
success.
Great communication skills are at the heart of effective
success coaching. Being able to track the client’s
beliefs, behaviours and metaphors of life enable the coach
to ask appropriate questions of the client or business group.
This facilitates a deep self exploration that often leads
to subtle shifts in the clients’ awareness that often
makes all the difference in making significant progress
towards desired outcomes.
2. What is NS-NLP (Neuro-semantics Neuro linguistic
programming)?
NS-NLP provides a human technology for
creating change. NS-NLP is the study of communication, behaviour
and thinking patterns. It studies the relationship between
language, thought and action. Begun by Dr John Grinder and
Richard Bandler, it explores the relationship between how
we think (Neuro), how we communicate verbally (linguistic)
and non-verbally and how we demonstrate our patterns of
behaviour and emotion (programmes). There are specific models
within the field of NLP for teaching people how to change
habits and other behaviour, how to explore and change states
of emotion and how to define, identify, and change beliefs,
even self concept. A coach trained in NS-NLP technology
offer a considerable advantage compared with most professional
or personal coaches in terms of time, effectiveness, quality
and advancement.
3. How is Coaching different to counselling?
Traditionally, counselling tends to focus
in on clients' problems. If you put your attention to a
problem behaviour or problem emotion you can often intensify
the experience of the problem. In contrast skilled coaches
focus on the clients desired outcomes. As clients attend
to what they want resources can be explored and gathered
towards meeting those desires. However, keep in mind that
coaches have the technology to facilitate change in any
problems that arise in relationship to the clients outcomes
due the comprehensive NS-NLP background. As NLP is a field
that attends to "how" human communication and
behaviour functions it is particularly useful in helping
clients improve their communication in difficult situations
and enhance their relationships in both professional and
personal lives. Once again it is about having the ability
to track patterns of language, thought processes and behaviour
patterns. Thus knowing how to work with those patterns so
that the client can make useful changes in their lives.
Counselling and most psychotherapy attends to and tends
to get caught up with the clients content, NS-NLP attends
to pattern and process, the how. How is that individual
or team organizing their experience? And how can they reorganize
their experience to achieve their outcomes?
